To promote the working groups, specially the sector oriented, there should be a topic combining manufacturing + transport/energy. If in 2025 a topic is devoted to energy, it would be a good idea to create a topic focused on advance manufacturing for transport to contribute to CO2 reduction in 2026/2027.
Metrics should be used as tools/outcomes and not as main objectives and should not appear on the title of the topic. It should be more focused on decision making for competitiveness and sustainability
Cooperative robotics should be included.
There is a lot of work to be done in this area yet
Why only machinery? It is confusing. It should be extended to critical components in general (including machinery components)
Since several challenges are still unknown in these new sectors, this topic should be a RIA
This topic might be of interest only for some end-users, but not for the vast majority of EFFRA members because the main players would be those of the energy sector
The topic is relevant but as it is described it seems to be 2 different topics, one focused on the factory and another focused on the supply chain. All indicated aspects dealed together would give rise to a topic of 10-15M€ funding per proposal. Activities focused on implementing the use of renewable energy would be out of the scope of MiE.
the main aspect should be to ensure the flexibility of the manufacturing system to operate with several material inputs, not focused on data and standards, which should be secondary aspects.
Clearly identify which are the differences with the previous remanufacturing topics
Several concepts might be addressed here. So, to avoid oversubscription this topic should have a high budget and a portfolio approach should be followed.
Since several challenges are still unknown in these new sectors, this topic should be a RIA
Open the topic not only to composites and bio, but also to any type of materials (including metals) using recycled materials
Not to focus only in recycled materials, but also in manufacturing technologies providing multimaterials that can reduce significantly the use of scarce or harmful materials. TRL is low, so it should be a RIA.
This would be a huge topic difficult to manage
