This will increase the flexibility of logistic areas and enable fast adaption to changing requirements in production.

Comment: One major objective of PAN-ROBOTS is to develop a system which is fast and thus cost effective to deploy. This will mainly be achieved by semi-autonomous 3Dmapping of the logistics area in combination with improved localization technologies, control center HMI, decentralized path planning and navigation and sensor based detection of pallets.

Comment: Semi-autonomous 3D mapping in case of completely new or changing logistic areas in combination with a simple and intuitive control center HMI enables flexible and fast adaptation to changing requirements in production. Furthermore, the increased autonomy of the AGVs will reduce the need for the setup of a set of predefined paths to be followed, since each robot will be able to autonomously plan the most efficient path to follow, while guaranteeing the safety of the operation.
