(UNPUBLISHED) HumanR | Teaming Human with Robots to remake modern manufacturing

Summary

Objectives:

  • consideration of perspective-taking, i.e. the ability of robot to estimate what its human partners perceive, processing and reacting in real-time to enable new level of autonomy, navigation, and manipulation;
  • ability to compute efficiently affordances for itself and to estimate the affordances of its human partners in a given situation;
  • ability to maintain a history of beliefs based on presence and focus of attention of humans which will enable reasoning on divergent beliefs – platform that robots can connect with and that enables data collecting into cloud service;
  • replace human factory workers in performing monotonous, repatetive and strain-including jobs in manufacturing and assembly work;
  • enabling companies in high-cost countries to reshore parts of their operations previously outsourced, bringing back jobs and/or creating new ones (e.g.: Cobots Technicians/Experts)

Expected results:

  • flexibiity in production, reducing in 20% the reconfiguration time and cost;
  • relief of employees by  performing ergonomically unfavorable work steps that could not previously be automated;
  • 15% reduced risk of injuries and infections;
  • high-quality performance of reproducible processes – without requiring type-specific or component-relevant investment;
  • increased productivity and improved system complexity thanks to integrated sensors.
