Summary
The Life Cycle Evaluation (LCE) tool is designed for an early factory planning phase where costs as well as environmental impacts of factory configurations are often not transparent. Applying the LCE tool the impact of physical flows that occur during all life cycle phases and for all system elements can be evaluated and compared. This holistic approach becomes necessary as environmental as well as economical impacts of factory systems significantly depend on the factory sub-elements like machines, technical building services and the building shell. The evaluation results are as well presented in aggregated templated hat enable management decisions.
