Summary
Through the Rapid Simulation Tool the energy and media load profiles of production lines can be quickly evaluated to define production line control strategies (e.g. one-piece vs. batch). The rapid simulation tool builds up on an extended energy value stream mapping logic and provides a generic model of a value stream which can be parameterized with production parameters (e.g. process times, lot sizes) and measured data from the specific case. The tool enables to seize benefits from simulation based approaches without high entry barriers such as limited expertise and time or high costs for software.
