Simulation and Navigation Cockpit

Simulation and Navigation Cockpit
Summary
The integrated decision making tools are to be implemented into an integrated “Simulation and Navigation Cockpit”. This cockpit enables the user to identify the effects of changes (e.g. re-configuration or new maintenance policy) in plants on the whole production network, as well as the effects of changes in the supply chain (e.g. a new supplier or a new negotiated contract) on the plant performance by advanced calculation tools and simulations. The “Simulation and Navigation Cockpit”, having a continuously updated view of the state of the production network and by exploiting the power of the advanced calculation tools and simulations, supports the user in decisions concerning: • At plant level: definition of equipment maintenance thresholds and policies (when and how maintenance should be performed), definition of the reconfiguration strategy (when and how a module should be reconfigured), definition of remanufacturing strategies (when and how a core should be remanufactured). • At supply chain level: definition of the supply chain reconfiguration strategy (when and how new suppliers should be integrated), definition of the contracts, and definition of the production plan modifications under the new cooperative model. The cockpit is to be demonstrated with its ffull functionality at the global industrial supply chain level at FESTO. Furthermore, different combinations of its tools will be applied at use cases at OMA, Knorr, Voestalpine, Marposs, MCM.
