This technical book is not intended to be an exhaustive treatment of all the subjects and problems inherent in machining by material removal. On the other hand, it contributes to bridging the gap between the physical theories of tool/material contact and the many technical parameters that determine the efficiency of the material removal process.
After introducing some theoretical aspects on the physics of cutting, the numerous technical characteristics of the "machined" and "machining" part are discussed. Some technical and technological factors related to "cutting" are also discussed.
The target audience is professionals in the industrial production of mechanical parts. The technical teaching body as well as the students in connection with it, will find something to satisfy part of their questions.
The targeted levels cover a broad spectrum of skills from technicians to engineers and researchers.
