Summary
By using online compensation via a high dynamic compensation mechanism, an accuracy of 8 µm for radial milling of industrial steel parts has been reached. In order to qualify the system for higher accuracy in generic milling applications the design of the HDCM needs to be revised and more damping needs to be introduced in the actuation principle.
