Summary
Motivation / Need: MetaCAM tool uses a number of theoretical process simulators to calculate energy efficiency for every manufacturing process. However, every machine has slightly different characteristics so there is a need for customizing the theoretical model according to real energy consumption data. According to this, every process has to be monitored and provide feedback to Meta-CAM tool, which modifies the theoretical algorithms accordingly.
Application Area: Applicable to production planning.
Solution Concept: In the project, several monitoring techniques were used and wherever needed enhanced or developed. An attempt of a generic monitoring system was done, resulting in a framework of a “standard” monitoring system be connected with a decision planning tool.
Partners have expressed interest in commercializing the Monitoring Technologies, as well as using them both internally and to provide external consultancy services.
