Summary
This document analyses the current use of indicators related to manufacturing and energy efficiency within two industrial domains, namely the semiconductor and automotive sector. In order to develop new indicators, it is essential to understand current best practices through a process of literature review and through input from the industry. Furthermore, attention is given in defining a new type of indicator that will be developed as well as the frameworks or methods for defining new indicators described in the literature. The results of the work done in the first task of Work Package 3 are presented throughout the document both in sections that have to do with the description of the current practices as well as a special template that relates to the analysis of the indicators which will be used further on in the project for classification purposes.
