Summary
Within COMET, ARTIS has contributed its experience in tool and process monitoring to the optimization of milling processes with robots. While milling with robots there appear process forces which differ from the classic handling tasks which had been the basis for CAM robot solutions models before. Using the appropriate parameters for offline and online monitoring, significant improvement in a test robot cell was visible. The robot moves the workpiece to the fixed spindle. The Tool and Process Monitoring System Genior Modular monitors the spindle’s true power.
