With more than 400 employees, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT is one of the most important contract research and development institutes in the industry worldwide. On more than 19,500 m2 of usable space, we offer a technically state-of-the-art and flexible environment for handling technological projects. Our entire infrastructure is state-of-the-art - always complemented by equipment and prototypes from the latest technology generation. On average, the researchers of the Fraunhofer ILT apply for a monthly patent and process several hundred projects a year in contract research. Our core activities cover a wide range of topics: from laser beam sources and optical components through laser measurement technology and laser material processing to medical technology and biophotonics. We develop new beam sources and optics as well as procedures and systems that are integrated with our partners.
