General description

Since 2012 Jules Verne Institute (JVERNE) has been developing industrial research dedicated to advanced manufacturing technologies. Its mission is “Strengthen the competitiveness of manufacturing through innovation”. Based in Nantes/France, JVERNE is driven by industry needs and addresses mainly industrial, scientific and technological challenges that concern five industrial fields: Aeronautics, Shipbuilding, Automotive, Renewable Energy and Manufacturing equipment suppliers.

JVERNE is becoming a reference center in the field of advanced manufacturing using composites, metallic materials and hybrid structures parts, by providing solutions to the technological challenges faced by industrials. JVERNE main thematic areas are: Forming & Preforming processes; Assembly & Joining technologies; Additive Manufacturing; Mobility in Industrial Environment; Manufacturing Flexibility; Manufacturing and Structural monitoring & control and Manufacturing Processes Simulation.

  • 130+ Employees with about 75% of R&D Engineers and Experts;
  • 5 R&D teams (Additive Manucfacturing, Robotics/Cobotics, Simulation, Composites and Monitoring Process/structures)
  • 25 M€ of annual turnover, with 20+ M€ of equipment investments;
  • 50+ patents; 100+ R&D projects, with 18 European projects among them (H2020; HEU and one Horizon Europe Coordination (started in Jan23);
  • 55+ Industrial, 17 SMEs and 16 Academia partners;
