Mobile Robot Unit

Mobile Robot Unit
Summary
The Mobile Robot Unit (MRU) can be adapted at almost any workplace. After connection to power supply and short teaching of the new tasks the unit can support the worker by his manual jobs. The teaching of the new tasks will happen in principle with the LIAA development environment. The flexible symbiotic unit is a stand-alone, movable module with robot, replaceable process tools and complete safety devices. The robot control and the LIAA Software unit are stored below the worktop. The present solution of this process unit, which was developed with a focus on the pilot case offers expendable potential also for other production areas or sybiotic assembly processes i.e. screwing, bonding or micro fitting of very small parts. The robot can be equipped therefore with nearly every process tool. The position of any object on the workplace will be monitored by 2D-camera (i.e. SICK PIM 60). Also incorrect alignment or the location to one another will be recognized and errors will be avoided. By using the lightweight robot UR 10 with low velocity and short motion sequences the safety devices to protect user and other persons could be created manageable. The soldering device for DDE pilot case for example is shielded with housing against inadvertent contact. Because the soldering pin will stay hot after soldering process a mechanism was developed to protect the pin back in the housing after finishing the task. This operation takes also place by tripping the emergency stop.
