Summary
This multi-layered system includes a rule engine based on Decision Support principles. Branch and Bound algorithm and Finite State Automata are required for the DSS rule engine development. The rule engine allows rule creation by the user, usually a Shop Floor Production Manager or Process Operator, according to the needs that apply to each shop floor. iDSS uses the rule engine to create maintenance task for the Maintenance Toolkit and the Shop Floor Feedback Engine, notification actions and database logs for further exploitation of knowledge.
