Summary

Driven by the need of highly reconfigurable production lines, this exploitable result focuses on the creation an Open Production Station where the key resource is a mobile robot platform with two robotic manipulators and a sensor suite that will enable the robot’s autonomous navigation and multiple operations execution. In particular, the developed mobile dual arm worker’s structure will be composed by: a) Two Universal Robot (UR) manipulators, a 2 DOF body support, b) omnidirectional wheels, c) PLC based safety control strategy, d) pan – tilt camera for navigation, e) POS / SLAM based navigation and f) safety stop / go. This robot system may be applicable in any manufacturing system that required multi variants production including also manual labour.
