System for enabling docking and collaborative oepration of mobile units

Summary

This system will contain the necessary algorithms and sensorial arrays that will facilitate the docking of two mobile platforms and their collaboration during their simultaneous navigation on the shopfloor. In particular, the results system will enable the fast, robust and accurate detection and tracking of Mobile Product Platforms (MPP) based on visual servoing techniques. The accurate navigation system will allow the mobile robot to approach and follow the moving MPP. An enhanced safety system will be deployed in order to integrate the MPP’s and MRPs individual safety systems (individual safety functions such as safety zones implementation) for avoiding any interference among the involved entities.
