Within D2.5 the possibilities of joining by EMW will be proved for all material combinations chosen for investigation within this project. With regard to sheet metal welding, this concerns the joining of • Copper and aluminium, i.e. specifically o Cu-DHP and EN AW-1050 and o Cu-DHP and EN AW-6082, • Aluminium and stainless steel, i.e. specifically EN AW-1050 and 304L (1.4307), and • Copper and copper i.e. specifically Cu-DHP and Cu-DHP. With regard to tube welding, this concerns the joining of • Copper and aluminium, i.e. specifically Cu-DHP and EN AW-6082 T6 • Aluminium and low carbon steel i.e. specifically EN AW-6060 T6 and S355J2, • Aluminium and low carbon steel i.e. specifically EN AW-3103 and S355J2, • Copper and stainless steel, i.e. specifically Cu-DHP and stainless steel 304L (1.4307) Details about the process analysis and the test results are included in deliverables D2.3 “Report on guidelines for joining of tubular components by EMW: Investigation of process parameters and geometrical parameters – part I” and D2.6 “Report on guidelines for joining of tubular components by EMW: Investigation of process parameters and geometrical parameters – part II” for tubular specimens and in D2.4 “Report on guidelines for joining of sheet components by EMW: Investigation of process parameters and geometrical parameters – part I” and D2.7 “Report on guidelines for joining of sheet components by EMW: Investigation of process parameters and geometrical parameters – part II” for EMW or sheet metal specimens.
