GloNet system as a whole

This asset represents the entire GloNet system developed throughout the GloNet pro-ject and encompasses all related functional components and assets that put together a virtual enterprise environment for networks of SMEs involved in highly customized and service-enhanced products through end-to-end collaboration with customers and local suppliers (co-creation). The GloNet system supports the establishment and man-agement of a mix of collaborative networks, including long-term base networks or breeding environments, and goal-oriented virtual organizations. It further offers a novel way to commonly represent/provide information and knowledge (e.g. catalogue of products, brochures, process descriptions, best practices, company profiles, etc.), which needs to be shared/exchanged among different stakeholders in the collabora-tive environment as dynamic software services that may upgrade in time. The GloNet system provides needed services through the cloud, to be available to anybody, at any time, from anywhere. Additionally, it allows brokers in very close contact with the cus-tomer who gives an order, to iteratively retrieve all needed information to step by step design the customer order and finally presenting the solution that is accepted by the customer. The GloNet system supports collaboration and consortia formation and ne-gotiation among all involved parties, supports the definition of multi-stakeholder based business services enhancing the product, and develops consortium related risk fore-casting and management services. Expected value: The GloNet system is expected to bring major improvements in pro-duction and product life cycle support processes, particularly for SMEs.
