The WHIRLPOOL use-case regards the assembly process of washing machines.
Currently the continuous flow line paradigm is inconsistent with effective traditional automation and traditional robotic where Process Engineers must either design complex production lines with combination of manual operation and automatic operation or assign boring, non-value added and not ergonomic operation to human.
Now both solutions are not economical competitive considering the high cost of labour in Europe. Trough ROSSINI project, implementation of real and cost effective HRC will allow to redesign workplaces combining automation and lean manufacturing concept, with a drastic reduction of conversion cost, thus reducing the impact of labour cost in Europe. Different legal and internal policy frameworks will be applied, so to provide a reference system as wider as possible to allow the methodology development be easily transferrable to different countries and industries.
More information will be provided during and after the demonstration phases of the ROSSINI project.
