The goals of Dexterous Gripper are:
To be as general as possible for manufacturing application, it must be able to manipulate with precision and accuracy pieces that are from few cm in size and few hectograms in weight up to parts that are more than one meter long and almost 10 kg in weight.
The gripper is designed to be modular: each finger has the same mechanical design, control, and the same kind of electronics.

To be reliable and simple enough to be easily integrated into a pre-existing industrial environment. The demand to have a device that is simple, versatile, easy to operate and maintained.
The system meets the safety requirements requested by industrial standard since the grasped part is not released even during an unexpected power-cut. Each motor is equipped with an high-resolution encoder.
