Event Stream Processing and Analysis

Summary
Event stream processing and analysis is a broad topic. Therefore, we started with a first implementation of a prototype for event stream processing and analysis, including histograms. Therefore, we have built a foundation for efficient processing of raw event data streams. The basis for these mechanisms is the efficient, online approximation of event stream distributions. Similarly, we propose the development of novel techniques for supporting similarity matching in streaming events. Furthermore, the distribution of Complex Event Processing (CEP) queries over heterogeneous devices enables the processing of events as close as possible to data sources and also enables scalability, adaptability, and availability in both stable and unstable environments. Particularly this work package is focusing on the deployment and management of queries and operators according to constraints from devices, networks and overlays as well as data selectivity inside the queries in stable environments.
