Summary
The HiPr innovative tool is characterized by two main features: the advanced integration of sensors, for a continuous and real time monitoring of process parameters and an innovative production cycle. The toll has been designed by Stepper. The tool has been designed to integrate into it around 30 sensors, for acquiring signals of forces, temperatures, strain, sound and pressures from every punch (5 in the pilot tool) and link every single part produced to a set of parameters. Coupling these measumrement with the ones on the input material, it is possible to link every possible fault or "strange" behaviour to a problem on the material or on the tool itself. The production has been reviewed. The core material is steel, while an advanced, patented coating (similar to DLC) has been applied, to guarantee the highets surface finishing. Laser ablation production processes have been investigated and results are under evaluation.
