The aim of our experiment is to provide an optimization and data analytics tool for discrete manufacturing (assembling) process to reduce production losses/scrap and the rejection during the quality control. We will collect data from the production line and provide cloud analytics and optimization to achieve this. We will test the solution on the manufacturing process of index arms of trucks, with the objective to increase the effectiveness of the whole assembly line by reducing the congestions between different process steps / units during the manufacturing process.
To explore new application areas for advanced ICT in manufacturing at large attracting considerable number of new users of advanced ICT in the manufacturing sector, in particular SMEs and mid-caps.
Moreover, the project will let more innovative and competitive technology suppliers, in particular SMEs, both on the level of ICT and on the level of manufacturing equipment, able to supply manufacturers with new equipment, components and tools for improved manufacturing and engineering operations.
