Comment: The development of a system of fully autonomous AGVs for goods delivery will increase the efficiency of the full manufacturing system, reducing the need for human operated forklifts, hence integrating logistics into the automated production process. This will increase the flexibility of logistic areas and enable fast adaption to changing requirements in production.
Supply chain and value network efficiency
Comment: One major objective of PAN-ROBOTS is to develop a system which is fast and thus cost effective to deploy. This will mainly be achieved by semi-autonomous 3Dmapping of the logistics area in combination with improved localization technologies, control center HMI, decentralized path planning and navigation and sensor based detection of pallets.

Comment: Together with the avance of replication technologies, by using novel tool materials and tool concepts, the project will develop an integrated monitoring method based on optical measurement inside the microrreplication chamber, which will help reducing the setup time in new parts or materials, improve flexibility, reduce cycle times, and enable zero-defect approaches based on adaptive replication machine behaviour.
Economic feasibility is addressed all along the development of the project by monitoring the impact of toolmaking technologies (tool material, design, modularity, toolmaking/refurbish/repair technologies, ...) in the overall economy of the manufacturing process.

Comment: The project will develop a complete manufacturing path, including not only the replication itself, but also the device design, part design, tool design, tool making, as integrated steps which must take into account .

Comment: • Also, Des-MOLD allow flexible production and higher production capacity. Intelligent molds enable easy production change and even production factory change. Being flexible to market has become mandatory for companies to survive. Furthermore, producing less scrap means having free capacity for another production. In growth circumstances (plastic business grows 3 to 4 % a year on average) this point is important.

Comment: • The main strategic objective of the Des-MOLD project is to reduce the cost of injection-molding production by developing and validating a set of ICT tools specifically oriented to mold makers and plastic injection companies, which will reduce the need for mock-ups of molds, and several try-and-error trials to calibrate process control variables

Comment: Demonstrator 3 – Predict remaining useful life The level of confidence of prediction has been evaluated by inducing real machine failure, in order to compare prediction and actual failure. Avoid or better anticipating failures it will cost less then if the same failure occurs during normal operation also collateral damage like scrap parts will be reduced

The whole development takes into accout energy savings and waste reduction.

Comment: Development of new technologies for production of powdered raw materials in an optic of improvement of economic performance. Extremely short processing-time, direct manufacture, very short process-chain and innovative highly efficient CNC type machine system can achieve sensible reduction of manufacturing costs.
