Comment: The project created a data integration layer in order to integrate the different data storages, from structured data sources and unstructured files and web sources. Security and trust will be handled by the network layers below the data protocols. Furthermore, data are collected from the fields thanks to PLM Data service, returning valuable knowledge to the stakeholders. "Metrology-driven Manufacturing in the Automobile Industry" as developed in LD is the data storrage and data mining to deduce case and effect realtion in order to optimze the processes.

Comment: ICT solutions enable the work in IMPROVE. Big Data is collected from the production plants and modern machine learning techniques are used to learn models from data, drastically reducing the manual modelling efforts. Learned models can adapt to the modern, fast changing systems and are available for tasks like condition monitoring and root cause analysis. The results are then displayed to the user, hiding the systems complexity.

The system blueprint is the FAR-EDGE RA. After having defined the requirements and the constraints for each block of the RA, a thorough analysis of the SotA has been done, which led to the identification of some existing software components meeting the specs. We then identified the gaps that the project will need to fill-in: not surprisingly, these where all the key enabling technologies, like the distributed ledger. However, hardly anything is going to be built totally from scratch in FAR-EDGE. The distributed ledger, for example, will be a customization of a generic, open source Blockchain platform (Hyperledger Fabric).
